Life's full...

The Jock and the Brain were the exclusive ones
with athletics and academics to gloat.
The wannabe Pres and wannabe Cheerqueen
couldn’t afford to lose one single student’s vote.

But when a classmate—and friend of seven years—
had a body in her body and showed,
The vote-needy wannabees in need of every vote
pushed up their noses and pointed their chests away.

And the exclusive two with skills and smarts
included the excluded two (into their hearts).

The Cat-cher of Cats spied a cat
And thought to himself,
“What a nice addition this feline would make
If only his owner would let me take
And stuff him and show him on the shelf.”
And preserve him forever just like that.

But the cat wasn’t dumb.
It saw with its eyes
What the collector had thought,
And the feline figured it ought
To flee from this man it despised
Before it permanently went numb.

He looked so cold
Lying there in the snow,
Even the two huddled by the fire
Looked as if they were ready to go.

Between the chitter chatter of chilled teeth,
And the shiver shudder of frozen limbs
The dead cold path was never silent;
And the fate of those left out here was grim.

In the battle between
Safety and Freedom
the winner is...

I wonder...

When going to the doctor really does cost an arm and a leg, what will people do on their third visit?

Second again--not first.
Why?

Am I not good enough?
Am I not smart enough?
Do people not like me?

I guess not.

No, thanks.

I'd rather not put money in stocks.

Here's a riddle I've never found an answer to:

Those who do all the work and produce all the of production get paid the least, while those who do the least amount of work and produce nothing get paid the most.

How long can such an upside system work?
