Concept Sketch: Striking at Night

After much reflection and thought, I've come up with the two illustrations at the left. They strongly resemble the style I used for Wandering Koala rides the Phantom Coach. I always really liked the style, but felt it was too harsh and didn't have enough life and character to it. So I've incorporated elements from my Raw Umber style. I love it, but it can be a little boring to look at a series of images in it.

What does "Saving Christmas" really means. Is it rescuing Santa from whomever kidnapped him this week? No, we don't need him for Christmas--it'll go on just fine without him. So how does one truly save Christmas, and who are we saving it from?

Check out this great new Book Review by Ron C. Nieto at Stories of my life

"Straight to the point: I enjoyed this one so much that I could not put it down! It’Äôs an adventure, technically speaking, but there was a wry half-smile in my lips all the time. Mr Thomason did pulp just as Terry Pratchett does fantasy: with a jaded, not-hidden-in-the-least streak of humor and criticism that added layers and layers of enjoyment to the whole experience."

Energy Crisis and Other Buzzwords

I haven't posted much lately, because I've been busy finishing up my latest novel, Power Trip (a Wandering Koala tale). I've written two separate prologues for it--one is a history and this one is about seeing thru the rhetoric--and I'm contemplating a third that focuses more on the science. Here is the second version. Let me know what you think.

The Ohso Project: The Recruit, a young adult science fiction short story is now available!

Drew had never been to the principal's office before. He had always been a good kid and he tried to stay out of trouble. But here he was sitting on a bench in the office waiting for his mom. He thought it would lead to suspension, maybe even go on his permanent record. He didn't expect the adventure that came next. And it was led by the most unlikely of people--the high school secretary!

Why don't Comic Book movies sell Comic Books?!

Comic Book Movies have dominated the box office for the last ten years bringing lesser known characters such as The Spirit, Thor, and the Green Lantern into mainstream consciousness. But it has done little, if anything, to improve declining comic book sales. Why is that?
